March Sports Round Up

March proved to be a great month for Nicholas Chamberlaine School’s sports teams, with a flurry of victories and commendable performances across various sports.

Year 9 Basketball students kicked off the month in style, participating in a 3v3 basketball tournament at Higham Lane School. It was fantastic to witness girls actively engaged and competing in basketball, and they performed admirably. Their competitive spirit, teamwork, and enthusiasm were remarkable!

The Year 7 Girls Netball team demonstrated remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship as they won three out of four games and narrowly missed out on the finals, the girls left a lasting impression with their cohesive play and positive attitude.

Meanwhile, the Year 9 Girls Football team showcased their skills at a tournament held at Etone, facing off against five different schools. With two wins, two draws, and just one loss, the team displayed excellent football prowess and cohesive teamwork, setting the stage for further success in upcoming competitions.

The Year 7 Boys Football team delivered an outstanding performance in a tense semi-final match against Saint Thomas Moore. Overcoming a halftime deficit, the team rallied together to secure a 5-3 victory, with standout performances from players like Charlie, who was awarded Man of the Match for his leadership and pivotal goals.

In addition to competitive fixtures, Nicholas Chamberlaine students also engaged in sports leadership sessions, honing their skills in organizing and facilitating sporting events. With plans underway to create their own sports festival, these students exemplify the school’s commitment to fostering leadership and inclusivity within the sporting community.

A group of Year 7 and 8 students embraced new challenges and experiences, participating in activities such as Archery, Boccia, and Curling events, whilst other Year 8 students represented the school admirably in County Finals Athletics Competition.
